More Than Just Conversation

My lessons are not free conversation or lessons prepared on the spot. I believe students make the greatest progress when each lesson connects naturally to what they have learned before.

Lessons are carefully planned with clear learning goals, structured practice, and regular review. New language is introduced gradually and then recycled in future lessons so that students can remember it, use it confidently, and continue building on it.

Depending on the course, I can also provide homework, review activities, study support, and detailed feedback to help students continue learning between lessons.

Long-Term Support

One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching students grow over many years. Some students I began teaching during my first year in Japan are still studying with me 16 years later.

I have also watched many younger students grow from elementary school children into teenagers preparing to enter high school.

My goal is not just to teach one good lesson. I want to provide consistent, long-term support and help students develop their English step by step over time.

Experience with Children, Adults & Professionals

I have taught learners of many ages and levels, including preschool and elementary school children, teenagers, adults, business professionals, and advanced English learners.

For children, lessons may combine phonics, vocabulary, reading, grammar, speaking, games, and practical communication. I also developed my own structured seven-level curriculum for children while running my English school in Japan.

For adults, I offer practical English, business English, advanced discussion, and customized speaking practice. I also have experience with corporate English training and EIKEN speaking interview preparation.

My Teaching Style

My teaching style is calm, professional, organized, and supportive. I encourage students to use English rather than only memorize rules.

Depending on the student's age, level, and goals, lessons may include conversation, role-plays, problem-solving, discussion, games, visual materials, phonics, repetition, and structured speaking practice.

I adjust the amount of support, repetition, and challenge for each student. Students are always welcome to ask questions, make mistakes, and take the time they need to understand something properly.

Limited Availability

I especially hope to work with students who are interested in studying regularly, usually once or twice a week, so that we can work through a structured curriculum and build on previous lessons to make steady progress over time.

Because I personally plan and adapt lessons for my regular students, I can accept only a limited number of learners. Once my regular schedule is full, I may stop accepting new students.

Not Sure Where to Start?

I recommend beginning with a consultation and trial lesson.

We'll discuss your goals, check your current level, and decide which lesson or course is most appropriate for you.

I look forward to meeting you!
