Hello! My name is Ilona and I'm from London in England, but I'm currently living in Osaka with my husband.
I studied Japanese at university, so I know how hard it is to learn a new language!
I took part in several English teaching events on my year abroad in Kobe in 2020, and studied for a TEFL English teaching certificate in 2022. Since graduating, I've taught both children and adult learners online, helping them with gentle coaching to help them become more confident in their English conversational skills.
My lessons are very fun and relaxed! I will gently correct any mistakes you make, but I believe that fluency is the most important when learning a new language. I want to focus on you becoming more confident in English.
I teach lessons in English, but I can also speak Japanese, so if there is every anything you don't understand I can also explain in Japanese if you need me to. Please don't hesistate to ask for my help!
I offer general lessons as well as more personalised ones aimed at helping you accomplish your own personal goals and needs. If you want to take a personalised lesson with me, please book a 15 minute trial lesson first. In the free trial lesson I will assess your level and we will talk about what you want to accomplish through our future lessons.
My hobbies include exploring Japanese food, visiting cafes, and listening to music. I also love movies and books if you are interested in chatting about any!
