Richard R Tutor Profile
Hola and Hello
My name is Richard Rosales. I am from the U.S. and currently living in Japan. I am a Native speaker of both English and Spanish. Since my parents are Mexican, I grew up speaking Spanish at home. I enjoy speaking with many different people and like to share my knowledge of both languages with everyone.
When I am not teaching, my world revolves around my family. I am married and have 2 small children. I enjoy traveling around Japan (especially to Japan's hot springs), listening to music, and watching movies. I played soccer for 20 years! I have stopped playing now, but I like to follow my favorite team Real Madrid.
Teaching Background
I have 10 years of teaching experience across various settings. I have taught English in a Chinese Junior High School and have spent 9 years teaching at conversational schools, corporate business settings, and private tutoring in Japan.
I have experience conducting intensive, 1-on-1 sessions at corporate offices, preparing professionals for international presentations and conferences. I have a 120-Hour TESOL certificate and have a University Degree in English Education with a minor in TESOL.
Teaching Style and Philosophy
My main focus is helping you gain fluency and confidence through conversation. I can connect with most anyone, and I strive to make the langauge learning process as practical and engaging as possible.
I believe that conversation is the strongest tool for learning. Not only a language, but in general! My lessons are personalized to your interests and needs, ensuring you are speaking and practicing immediately.
While fluency is the main goal, I will correct grammar and vocabulary mistakes naturally as they come up, providing structure only when you need it.
Languages are keys that open doors to many opportunities, from professional connections to cultural understanding. The more you speak the stronger you will get.
