Jacob Gullekson Tutor Profile
My name is Jacob but I like to be called Jake. I am from Tampa, Florida, USA and grew being a big baseball fan. I went to college in Orlando, Florida and spent one semester in Jönköping, Sweden. While I was at school, I worked at Disney World for three years!
You might notice that I haven't taught classes for awhile. I took a year off to focus on my master's degree. Now that it is over, I want to get back into teaching and help the world improve their English!
Qualifications: I currently live in Madrid, Spain but I taught English in China for 3 years and another 6 months in Spain. In China, I worked with students after school 5 days a week. In Spain, I worked at an elementary school with students who were a bit more advanced in their English skills.
I have a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification.
Many of the students I taught from China have taken trips abroad to English speaking countries and have been able to use their English very well when traveling.
Personality: Students, teachers, and friends have all said that I am a very easy person to talk to so you shouldn't feel nervous at all when taking one of my classes!
Classes: I want to make my classes as easy to understand as possible. I will be sure to focus on the topic of the day, but also make it enjoyable. I want to make it feel like we are simply having a talk and getting to know each other, while leaning the content for the day.
