Hi, I'm Akari! I'm a native Japanese speaker who's spent most of my life moving between countries, and that's exactly why I teach the way I do.

At 15, I spent a year living in Ohio, USA, on a high school exchange. At 20, I moved to Prague, Czech Republic, where I spent 4 years as a university student. Along the way, English became close to a second native language for me.

【私の強み / What makes my lessons different】

♦ Because I'm fluent in English myself, I can explain the "why" behind Japanese, the subtle nuances like why a phrase sounds a little off even when it's technically grammatically correct. This is something textbooks rarely cover well.

♦ I've lived as a foreigner in two very different countries, so I understand firsthand what it feels like to be a beginner in a new language. I know where learners tend to get stuck, and I try to meet you there.

♦ Outside of teaching, I'm into football and going to the gym, so if you want to chat about sports or an active lifestyle, I'm always up for that too.

【レッスンについて / My lesson style】

My lessons are free-talk style rather than strict grammar drills, a relaxed space to chat about everyday life, hobbies, or whatever's on your mind, while getting comfortable with natural, spoken Japanese.

If you're nervous about speaking, you're exactly who I want to talk to. Mistakes are part of learning, so let's keep it casual and have fun practicing together.
