Hello, it's nice to meet you! 

My name is Rich. I'm a TEFL-certified English teacher from South Africa. I'm also a certified life coach and a qualified journalist. My unique blend of skills can really help you with both the technical and conversational parts of learning English, as well as staying motivated when learning gets difficult or challenging sometimes. 

My background in teaching comes from 5+ years teaching skiing and snowboarding internationally to students all over the world. I taught students of all ages and skill levels how to have fun while challenging themselves and learning new skills. I learned how to faciliate fun lessons and keep learning interesting, motivating and engaging for my students! 

I love to travel and I have traveled to six of the seven major continents! Can you guess which one I still have to visit? While I have traveled to Asia, I still have to visit Japan (it's on my bucket list!) - I look forward to learning about different cultures from my students, while hopefully introducing you to a bit of South African culture too! 

I studied journalism at the University of Cape Town, and I love studying languages, reading, writing and learning new languages! All of my experience puts me in a good position to help you with learning English, and as a certified Business English teacher, I specialize in teaching Business English to my students. 

My lessons are: 
  • Fun, motivating, and engaging
  • Tailored to all levels - from beginner to advanced professional! 
  • Practical: use real-life scenarios from your work and life to help you better communicate in English 
  • There to help prepare you for all aspects of the workplace including: writing professional emails, preparing for interviews and meetings, sharpening your presentation skills and landing a promotion! This, in addition to learning to negotiate and secure new deals with new business partners! 
As a teacher, my philosophy is based on kindness, compassion, empathy and understanding and these are the foundations I bring into my lessons to help you learn.
