Kumi N 講師のプロフィール

Hello! I’m Kumi.

I grew up moving between the US, Canada, India, and Singapore—so working across cultures and languages has always been part of my life.

As a professional, I’ve spent 30 years working for global companies in Europe and Japan. For the last decade, I’ve worked as a Customer Success Manager at global SaaS companies where all internal communication—meetings, Slack, documentation—happens in English. I’ve navigated difficult negotiations, built teams across time zones, managed misunderstandings, and helped colleagues work together despite their differences.

In my previous career at global SaaS companies, I went through six full English-language interviews for one of my transitions. I know what it’s like to present yourself, answer tough questions, and prove your value—all in English.

What I understand

I know the specific challenges Japanese professionals face when working internationally:

  • How to communicate directly without sounding rude
  • How to build real relationships with colleagues from different cultures
  • How to speak up and share your opinions in meetings
  • How to navigate small talk and casual conversation
  • How to succeed in English-language interviews and career moves

How I teach

My lessons are practical, not textbook. I don’t teach grammar rules. I share what actually works in real workplaces, and we practice together so you can use it immediately.
