Profile
Hello! My name is Jeffrey, and welcome to Ivy League Oral Communication! I am excited to help YOU achieve your English language learning goals!
I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the United States. I still live in Philadelphia and am an English language teacher at the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League university.
I live with my wife, our daughter, our cat, Milla, and our dog, Nox. When I'm not teaching English, I enjoy music (I play guitar and saxophone), writing comedy, and studying Japanese.
I lived in Japan for two years (Gifu and Sendai) and worked as an English teacher at Ichiko High School in Sendai and Nova in Gifu. I love Japan—the people, the culture, and the food (especially Cocoichi Curry!).
I have a master's degree in teaching English and 15+ years of experience working with English language learners. My specialty is teaching oral communication, and at the University of Pennsylvania I teach listening and speaking skills for general English, business English, and test prep (IELTS).
The best way to learn English is by using it. In my general English lessons, we will listen to conversations, have discussions, and do role-plays. My business English, IELTS, and pronunciation classes are also interactive and challenge you to use your English. And, of course, I am here to give you feedback and help you along the way.
So, how about a free trial lesson or counseling lesson? Let's practice English together!
- Jeffrey G.
