Dear friends,
I am Ashley, and I am currently living in the UK. But if we go back just four years, I was also one of the students who struggled with studying English. I can still vividly remember all those days of struggling with vocabulary, reading and writing, and those days when I could only talk to myself in English as a way to practise speaking because there was no one else I could practise with.
Therefore, I have also walked the same path before. As a non-native speaker myself, I can totally relate to and understand the difficulties that English learners generally face. Ever since I received my first 7.0 in IELTS three years ago, I started helping my classmates with their English studies back in high school, as well as assisting at a language institute. Now, I have been teaching online across different international platforms, working with learners from different countries, occupations, age groups, and linguistic backgrounds.
In terms of my teaching methodology, I do not set a fixed and rigid syllabus for everyone. Instead, I see every learner as an independent individual with different needs. Hence, the classes are fully individually oriented and adjusted according to each person's progress and circumstances. Whether it is for exam preparation, work, life, or a hobby, the class structure would never simply be about the transmission of grammar and vocabulary. Instead, we learn through entertaining activities, casual practice, and every relaxing conversation. I do not offer a pre-designed, unified approach to everyone. Rather, the study plan is developed through real interaction with the learner, focusing on areas such as speaking and grammar improvement, pronunciation training, and so on.
It is not just about a teacher teaching a student, but more like two friends sharing ideas, learning from each other, and improving together. With full passion and patience, I wish to help learners, in my own way, study English in a chill, relaxing, and cheerful environment through casual conversations and daily practice. I want to help you step outside the rigid framework and syllabus and discover that, actually, this language is far easier than you thought.
I wish we could explore more about this beautiful, but at the same time sometimes slightly annoying, language together, through laughter and joy.
I am here, waiting for you!!!
All the best,
Ashley
