Self Introduction

Hi! I'm Pak!
I currently live in Tokyo and offer both English and Cantonese lessons on Cafetalk.

I spent many years living in the United States and speak four languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese. Since I’ve also experienced learning foreign languages myself, I understand how it feels when you know what you want to say but can’t quite express it, or when you feel nervous about making mistakes.

English Lessons

I offer lessons based on each student's goals, including everyday conversation, free talk, pronunciation, and Eiken preparation.

I currently tutor a high school student in English and have helped her successfully pass Eiken Grade 2. I also have experience teaching English to children through games and other fun activities.

Cantonese Lessons

As a native Cantonese speaker, I offer lessons for beginners as well as students who want to improve their pronunciation, tones, everyday conversation, and natural Cantonese expressions.

One lesson I especially recommend is “Cantonese for Your Hong Kong Trip!” 

We can practice useful expressions that you can start using right away in Hong Kong, such as ordering at restaurants, shopping, taking public transportation, and asking for directions. I'll also introduce natural Cantonese expressions that people actually use in Hong Kong and Macau, which you may not always find in textbooks.

In my lessons, I want you to speak as much as possible without worrying about making mistakes. Complete beginners are always welcome!

I'll adjust each lesson to your level, goals, and interests, and I hope to create a relaxed environment where you can enjoy learning and speaking.
