About Me

Hello! I’m Ying
A native Mandarin Chinese teacher with over 3000 hours of teaching experience online.

I majored in Japanese at university, so I can support lessons in both English and Japanese, especially for beginners who may need extra guidance.

 

My Teaching Style

1.Learning Chinese in a clear, structured, and easy-to-understand way

Instead of relying on translation-based teaching, I focus on comprehensible input through TPR, pictures, videos, and real-life contexts.

2. Specialize in helping build a strong foundation

Most of my students benefit from my Systematic Pinyin approach, which helps them develop accurate pronunciation, clear tones, and strong listening skills from the very beginning.

3. Mistakes are always welcome in my classroom

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes — they’re an important part of learning Chinese.

Rather than immediately correcting every mistake, I help my students discover problems on their own and develop self-correction skills.

4. highly interactive, with plenty of speaking opportunities in every class

Students are the center of my classroom.
Through guided questions, open-ended discussions, and everyday topics, I encourage students to speak more, express their ideas, and communicate naturally in Chinese.

When I’m not teaching , I enjoy reading, traveling, and singing.
I also have two adorable cats:

  • one practices yoga better than I do
  • the other appears mysteriously in random places around the house — including my air fryer.
