Hello! Bonjour, ciao, dobre rano... I'm Jim, based in sunny Devon in the south west of England. I live with my partner, two daughters and a cat called Tim. Tim and Jim, that's right!
I've taught many foreign students, in the classroom and online. In my experience, I can say that every single one of them used English more competently than they believed. Put simply, you are better at English than you think you are. Confidence is everything and my lessons are aimed at improving your confidence through conversation about topics that we both enjoy - art, literature, sport, film, music, dance, philospohy, travel, history... the possibilities are endless.
During our lessons I won't stop you and correct you. This method does not work for me. I would prefer you to speak freely, allowing yourself to make mistakes. You can of course self correct, but be assured that I will take notes and identify any areas that require attention. In future lessons we can work together on these areas to improve your understanding and use of English.
