Hello everyone!
My name is Chima, and I teach Japanese and Korean on Cafetalk.
Please feel free to call me “ちま先生 (Chima sensei)” ^^
First, please let me introduce myself.I live in Nagoya, Japan.
After graduating from college, I assisted international students living in Japan.
I not only helped them study Japanese, but I also helped them experience Japanese culture and enjoy their lives in Japan.
This is when I decided that I wanted to work as a Japanese language teacher, so I attended a school dedicated to teaching Japanese education, and graduated from a curriculum called the “Course in Advanced Skills of Teaching Japanese”.
I am currently teaching 18 international students at a Japanese language school.
At Cafetalk, I want to focus on free talking and teach not just textbook Japanese, but the language that Japanese speakers actually use, and to teach not only Japanese language, but also the culture as well.I also started teaching Korean as I had many opportunities to use Korean at my previous job, so I wanted to utilize my experience and teach Korean from a Japanese speaker’s perspective^^↓This is my classroom scene.
Next, here are my interests and favorite things ^^1. TravelingI have traveled to South Korea the most.
I have been to so many places including Seoul (서울), Busan (부산), Daegu (대구), Daejeon (대전), Yeosu (여수), Suncheon (순천), and Jeonju (전주).
I cannot keep track of the number of times I have been to South Korea! lol
The one thing I always eat when I go to South Korea is “kopchang (곱창).”
I have also been to Hawaii.
The country I want to visit the most now is Taiwan ^^
My favorite place to visit in Japan is Kyoto.
I enjoy wearing kimono and exploring the city while eating!
The autumn foliage in Kyoto is also beautiful, isn’t it?
2. Manga and AnimeI have enjoyed reading manga and watching anime since I was a child!
I especially like Shounen manga ^^
If you also like manga and/or anime, why not join me for a fun chat about manga & anime?3. Studying languagesSo far, I have studied Korean, Chinese, and English.
As a result, I understand both the “joy” and “struggles” of studying a language.
“How can I make learning a language more fun?”
“How can help my students understand the complicated parts of the language?”
…These are the things I am always thinking when I teach ^^
So, why are you studying Japanese/Korean?
Do you like anime? Like the food? Like the TV dramas? Like the music? Want to study abroad? Want to live in Japan or South Korea? Or do you simply like it?…I am sure that there are many reasons.
Chima-sensei will help you to enjoy studying Japanese/Korean while respecting your reasons and feelings for studying those languages ^^Let’s study hard together!Lastly, this is my Instagram account.
At first, my activities were aimed at Korean students who were learning Japanese, but from I hope to reach out to both Japanese and Korean language learners around the world, so please don’t hesitate to join me for a lesson♪
