Hello
my name is Kate. I am a native Czech speaker, I have a BA in Education in English Language and Fine Arts and also a CAE certificate. Right now I am working towards my CELTA certificate.
I am fluent in English and I also speak intermediate French and since I like learning new things I am also trying my best to learn Japanese (and possibly Korean).
I am also very curious and I am interested in many topics from cultures and arts, books or comics to science.
I am friendly and approachable and hard working.
I have been teaching for at least 5 years now and mostly one on one lesson, which means that I have experience with focusing on one learner also instead of just focusing on a group.
I try to pay attention to learners as best as I can so that I can make a picture of what are their strengths and weaknesses and assess their abilities and also needs. But at the same time, I try to adjust the lessons to what the learners themselves want to do at that point so that they feel comfortable and are interested in the lesson.
I can help you with conversation and we can talk about any topic that you like and I can adjust the lessons according to what topics you like or what you would like to practice (grammar, vocabulary, writing etc)
I could also create materials to practice after lessons or tell you which books could be useful or which website could help you practice.
I do my best to correct mistakes students make in a way that does not make them feel uncomfortable or often even come up with the correct answer since my experience as a teacher but also as a student has taught me that this ensures that the student will remember the correct answer (correct grammatical form or correct meaning of word) much better, then when they are told the correct answer.
