Hi! My name is Rosanna. I'm an artist who is very interested in culture and crafts. I lived in the UK as a teenager for three years and most recently lived in Kyoto, Japan for eight years, where I studied textiles and also worked as a support teacher at an elementary school. During my experience in Japan, apart from learning the language, I dived into traditional dyeing techniques such as Katazome and Yuzen which are deeply rooted in Kyoto. I had the opportunity to exhibit my dye works in galleries, which allowed me to get a sense of the art atmosphere and art venues in Japan.
I love to meet people, and I would love to share life experiences through daily conversation and get to know about your own experiences. I also love to watch movies, go hiking, and practice Capoeira Angola. Teaching has allowed me to keep studying and learning the best ways to convey the knowledge I have gathered all these years. Learning new languages has opened many doors for me, and I know it can be challenging, but if we accept the challenge it can be fun too. I continue to learn vocabulary and kanji!
My experience teaching is as follows: 2 years teaching Spanish, 3 years teaching English freelance, and 6 years as an art teacher at University.
These are pictures of my wonderful time in Kyoto. The last picture is with my family at the amazing Golden Pavilion!
