Hello everyone! I am Liam, a game developer and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, living in Japan since 2021. Having worked at larger companies such as Amazon and Unity, I now run a studio I co-founded with a close friend, with our game now having over 4.5 million copies sold.
On the side, I've always loved working on small projects, as well as large-scale community events. I previously founded/ran a large UK hackathon with 300 yearly attendees, and run a large non-profit games industry community with over 50,000 members.
I'm already involved with a few mentoring programs and wanted to extend that a little further here.

My primary areas are: Technology/Programming, Startups, FAANG Companies, Game Development, Game Design, Community Management, Event Organising.
My mentoring style is best described as encouraging and honest - I think it is important to be empathetic and help people find enthusiasm/confidence within themselves.
Session Style
I typically run mentoring sessions via Zoom - some sessions may just be discussion-based, talking through your own goals/ideas, and some sessions may be based on Miro, where it is more appropriate to diagram out your thoughts/explore ideas/provide explanations visually, it all depends on the topics you would like to cover!
Sessions are relatively "free-form", in the sense that there are no lectures/quizes, and are more focused on 1:1 mentoring.
Cats
I have two suuuper cute cats called Temmie (2.5 Years old) and Teemo (1 Year old) - I mostly wear black despite having two incredibly fluffy white cats, I am always buying コロコロ refills

Session Prices / Accessibility
I am excited to help a large number of students from diverse backgrounds. As I mentor as a hobby, not for income, I have intentionally kept these prices low to make them accessible.
Regarding accessibility, if it seems I am no longer a good fit for you as a mentor, I will bring this to your attention, and we can adjust the frequency of our sessions. Additionally, you are under no obligation at any time to continue sessions if you feel we have covered all the topics you'd like to focus on or if you feel I am no longer a good fit.
