Step1Applicaiton (Sign Up)

Just fill in the form - there are no setup or monthly fees. Note that there is a selective interview at the end, but it’s more so we can get to know you and to help you get set up.

Step2Setup Your Profile

Create an appealing profile for your students.

Step3Create Lessons

Think of a great lesson idea that plays to your unique strengths and experiences.

Step4Pre-Open Interview

One of our friendly counselors will go over your profile and lessons with you to check if they conform to our standards. You’ll also receive guidance on things like appropriate conduct, tips and best practices for teaching online, and how to effectively promote yourself.

Step5Start Teaching!

Once your account is approved it will be made public. Now you can start receiving lesson requests!

Cafetalk places utmost importance on communication and trust with its tutors.

Our staff will do everything we can to support and provide you with the best teaching environment possible so you can concentrate on delivering quality lessons. You can also post questions and receive valuable feedback on our tutor forum.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much do I get paid?

A. You are free (within a maximum limit) to set the price of your lessons. 60% (or more depending on performance) of that will be paid out to you each month. Tutors can also be given preferential rates based on performance and feedback.

Q. How do I get paid

A. We will make payments in Japanese Yen to your Paypal account. (Or we can transfer to a bank if you have an account in Japan)

Q. Is it possible to offer lessons in areas other than languages?

A. Yes. Whether it be science or philosophy, tutors offer various lessons that make use of their unique backgrounds. Interesting examples include specialized counseling sessions and lessons where you discuss the economy using the latest news and stock information. (However, all lessons must adhere to our Tutor Terms)
