Hello! My name is Jan and I've been an English teacher for more than 10 years in South America and Europe.


Please answer these 3 questions:

1. Are you shy when you speak English?

2. Have you memorized thousands of vocabulary words and grammar rules, but never get to use them in conversations?

I've got experience teaching students ranging from elementary/primary school to adult, beginners to advanced students. Don't worry if you think your grammar isn't great. You don't have to feel nervous. Learning a language should be fun.

My qualifications and experience:

I am a TEFL certified teacher (160 hrs). I have taught in private language schools in Peru and The Netherlands, company classes, and all ages from kindergarten to working professionals in their 50s and older.

Professionals I have taught:

I have had the pleasure of tutoring many amazing professionals in a wide range of backgrounds, ages, industries, and job positions. Just to name a few of the professions, I have taught university professors, nurses, business owners, elementary school teachers, and medical students.

Lessons for children:

I have many fun lessons that are tailored towards young students. All of my lessons for children include games that help to reinforce what was learned. These methods have proven very successful with past students.

My lesson plan:

Since I understand that every student learns in different ways, I do not use the same lesson plan for all of my students. I create custom tailored lessons to meet each student's exact needs based upon their English comprehension and proficiency levels by assisting them in the areas that they would like to experience and see improvement the most. I use many creative learning exercises that are effective methods and interesting. Some of my ESL materials include worksheets, written and verbal exercises, real world situations, role playing, and simulating the environment (business, academic, presentations, etc).

I understand that finding an English Teacher that makes you comfortable may be difficult. I promise that I am 100% PROFESSIONAL AND CERTIFIED on every level and as YOUR English Teacher I can guarantee that:

• I am patient. You don’t have to worry about making mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes.
• I will custom tailor lessons to your specific need
• I will listen to you when you have special requests


It does not matter if you are at a beginner level or are more advanced. I can help ALL students improve their English. Let's start learning English together!

FUN FACT: I lived in many different countries and cities since I was very young, mainly English and Spanish speaking countries, so my English and Spanish are native level, but my Dutch is only fluent even though I was born in The Netherlands!
