SELF INTRODUCTION

My lessons are for ALL AGES! 

I am an English teacher in Japan. I teach Elementary school and Junior High School. I also teach English to adult students, including business professionals.

I am a TEFL certified English language teacher. Teaching English as a foreign language is something I have always loved doing - becoming fluent in English can change your life, and I love seeing that happen for my students. I like to teach in a way that prepares students to be able to converse fluently in both casual and business situations - without anxiety! I am also a practicing yogi, and I like to keep my lessons as zen and comfortable as possible. 

TEACHING BACKGROUND

I first studied teaching in Canada.

I have taught English at schools in Japan and China, as well as online, for many years. I am trained to teach students of all ages and abilities.

TEACHING STYLE

My lessons are very comfortable, fun and engaging!

I like to tailor my lessons to the individual student as I feel this keeps the pace comfortable. Other than that, I typically would implement a PPP system of learning, where I first present the new target language (according to the student's needs), then we do a guided practice of the new language, followed by an exercise where the student will practice producing the language on their own with my observation (this helps the student to remember the language better, and practice pulling it out of their brain spontaneously, as the student will need to do in real life)! After the lesson, I will provide the student with useful materials to help them continue observing and practicing the new bit of English they have learned!

CHAT SESSIONS!

I also offer "chat" sessions, where instead of a formal structured lesson, we can simply speak together in a relaxed setting, to improve your confidence in English. We can discuss anything you like. Along the way, I can introduce you to new slang!
