Hello, I'm Cynthia. I'm an English teacher and also a mother who's working hard to raise her my child to be trilingual. I speak English, Mandarin and Japanese!


 
I was born in Singapore, and majored in Japanese Studies at the University of Melbourne, Australia. I've taught English for more than 11 years in Japan. I've had experience teaching children at elementary schools, international kindergartens and eikaiwa (English language schools).

After years of teaching experience and an extensive research on alternative educational approaches, I’ve developed my own style of teaching online and offline. I've taught Kids Yoga in English at international kindergartens, and often organize story time sessions for young children and mums. 

My daughter and I love picture books. We read at least two books every day. Besides nature, I believe that picture books are the best teacher for children! When we read to children, they feel loved, warm and safe. This is important in helping them develop their self-esteem and learning skills. Also, there's just so much to learn from books!

I'd love to share the fun and joy of learning English with you and your child through using picture books, songs and dance! I believe that learning has to be positive and interactive to be effective!

My Interests

I live in the countryside of Chiba, and enjoy being close to nature all the time. In my free time, I love dancing, going to cafes, reading, cooking and hanging out with friends while eating good food!
