RIZA. Perfil del(de la) tutor/a

*From January 2024 , along with my lesson price revisions, lesson contents were reorganized.

What you can expect from my online lessons◆

・Detoxing your thoughts (resolving your worries, concerns, issues / understanding your true feelings, how you feel now / organizing your aspirations, goals for the future, and more.)

・Learn the ability to express yourself more freely and clearly (in both writing and in conversation)

・Learn the ability to think logically and organize your thoughts

・Gaining confidence in your pronunciation skills, which will help you to speak more → I plan on offering lessons focused on pronunciations in the future.

・Learn business Japanese, honorifics, and manners so that you can confidently navigate through Japanese society.

・Responses to specific questions (including presentation and interview preparation)

My lessons will mainly focus on dialogues, but even when using articles or texts, I will attempt to reenact them in a form that is as close as possible to real-life language activities, aiming to give students the confidence to start using the language on their own from the day after the lesson.

◆Offline lessons & Original textbook contents◆

・My original textbook, “実用!敬語特訓!(Practical Honorific Training!)” → This textbook systematically shows how to use different honorifics depending on the person you are talking to and the situation, and allows you to practice using them in situations that are likely to occur in the real world. The last part of this textbook includes business Japanese expressions commonly used in the workplace.

・Pre-recorded Lesson → Pre-recorded video lessons for self-study using my original textbook “Practical Keigo  Training!” and more

・Dictation Lesson → After dictating from the tutor’s audio and receiving corrections, you will also have the chance to practice reading it aloud.

◆What I am passionate about for my lessons◆

▶Why not spend some time reflecting on your feelings?

My earnest wish is that, in this fast-paced world where it is so easy to lose sight of ourselves, I can help you be able to take steps toward a new day with greater ease and confidence. If each one of us can reach this state of mind, I am sure we will be able to live our lives unwaveringly, believing in ourselves while skillfully resolving any stress or troubles we encounter. I believe that by increasing the number of people who are living a happy and stable life, the world will see more joy, while simultaneously reducing the number of tragic events.

▶I want to assist as many people as possible, no matter where they are, to maintain a healthy mindset

There are many excellent Japanese language tutors out there, so what can I offer that is unique to me? I thought hard and came up with this answer. I would like to interact with my students as the same humans as myself, even across borders, and through deep dialogue, I would like to give students the experience of organizing their thoughts and reflecting on themselves.

I think we tend to spend our days scrambling to do what we have to do, while keeping a lid on our feelings. Stress and concerns that accumulate without us even realizing become more complicated and contradictory the longer we leave them unattended. Although we think we are not thinking about those unanswerable concerns, we actually think about them unconsciously many times throughout the day, asking ourselves the same questions but not being able to find the answers. We end up leaving it unanswered, but as long as it is unresolved, we will end up going back and thinking about it again and again ...We keep going back-and-forth like this. This is both a waste of time and mental energy, and it is extremely unrewarding. Once you face and answer your concerns thoroughly, and never repeat the same questions again, you will have room to invite new and useful thoughts. At that point, you will know that you have taken a major step forward.

On the other hand, even if you do not have any major concerns, it is natural for your mental state to vary from day to day, and I am sure that it is rare for anyone to be completely stress-free. I think it makes a lot of sense to confront and reset your problems while they are still minor. If you are in a happy and contented state, this is the time to be hopeful and spend time exploring and thinking about your future.

I want to be there for you in any situation. Students from Japan are of course welcome to join me, and I believe that by exchanging deep conversations in Japanese, Japanese language learners can also gain the experience of “using Japanese as a tool” and the content feeling of “having been able to learn and practice many essential contents.” Of course, questions related to the Japanese language itself are also welcome during our dialogue.

I strive to teach each lesson with sincerity and enthusiasm, taking joy in being a part of my student’s lives.

▶Reading comprehension and output skills that will be useful throughout your life.

In addition, it is actually the technique and habit of “note-taking” that plays an essential role in organizing your thoughts. When trying to clarify your thoughts, it is essential to output them in a visual form. Another reassuring thing to have when organizing your thoughts while looking at your notes, is the ability to prioritize and delve into areas of high priority, which in other words is having “logical thinking skills.” This ability can be developed through “reading comprehension” practices and “summarizing” texts.

Therefore, I offer lessons that focus on “note-taking” and “reading comprehension and summarizing” for high school students and above to adults, as well as “Japanese language” lessons for elementary and junior high school students. Why don’t you join me to improve your lifelong skills that can be used daily, not only for writing practices or input and output, but also for preparing yourself for each day?
