Hello! I am Juyoun. You can call me Julian.
I am from Korea and I am currently living in Japan.

I have been working in Japan about 4 years, so I can speak Japanese fluently. After graduating from high school, I studied abroad in Canada for 4 years and graduated from college.

What are you studying languages for?

Are you struggling with having a conversation with your native friend? Or the proper expression is not coming up right away even though you already have intermediate level of grammar, reading and writing skill.

For me, the ultimate goal of learning a new language is to understand the culture of the country and communicate with the native speakers.

In my learning a new language experience, I realized improving speaking skill is much more difficult than improving reading and writing skills. Indeed, I am now apart from my hometown, and I experience forgetting my own mother tongue and sometimes hard to come up with the right words immediately.

Here I would like propose that I am not teaching you.
I would like to support you to have fun while you are learning a new language. 
For example, suppose you are studying to communicate with someone you long for. If you have such a person, please imagine yourself talking happily with the person you admire.

How long time do you spend for improving your speaking skill per day?

Have you already learned enough writing and reading grammar, but are you experiencing  when you communicate in that language, the expression doesn't come to mind right away?

I would like to make speaking time enjoyable in a way that's right for you.

If you have a dream that you really want to achieve through CAFETALK, I think this class will definitely spur you to make that dream come true. I hope to be a speaking guide who accompanies you on your way, even in a small way.

When I had just joined the company and met the learner through a colleague, had already studied Korean on her own (intermediate level), and was very knowledgeable about Korean culture and food. That's why we decided to set up a chat time once a week. She is very enthusiastic about Korean, and the lessons that started around 2020 continuing till now without realizing it.

The lesson style is based on the learner's text (NHK Hangeul course), reading, 받아쓰기 (writing practice), and general topics such as Korean food, dramas, books, singers, and etc. We also had a free talk. At the end of the lesson, I asked her to practice using the expressions and words that we had discussed in the lesson, writing diary, listening to dramas and TV programs as assignments, and trying to find out the expressions she learned in the lesson.

I am happy that I would like to share the comments from my learner.

Not only Korean, but also Korean culture and Korean food recipes are taught, so you can naturally learn about Korean language and Korean culture. ✓You've already learned enough about writing, reading, grammar, and so on, and if you need a native friend to chat with, you can practice the expressions that you can actually use by chatting with me. At the last you can use appropriate expression at the right situation.

✓You can understand what your favorite idols and actors say in dramas and TV programs, and you can gain confidence by using them in this lesson.

✓It is recommended for those who have grown up your children and want to spend your free time on your own toward your dreams, or for those who want to enjoy fun hobbies and activities.
