From Novel to TV: What Changed, What Stayed True, and Why It Matters -A Discussion of Historical Fiction, Social Change, and the Reality of Prince Edward Island (1890–1910)
Hello! My name is Stephanie. I’ve been working as an English teacher, both in-person and online, since 2017.
In addition, I’m a singer-songwriter, vocal coach, and musician with over 20 years of experience in teaching and performing. As a housewife, I’ve also developed a passion for cooking and enjoy finding creative ways to make English learning fun—sometimes through unique activities like cooking lessons.
I live in Japan with my Japanese husband and our 17-year-old dog, Karin.
In my free time, I enjoy solving puzzles, camping, hiking, and reading advance copies of books for publishers as a hobby.
Tutor Stephanie has many years of experience teaching English, specializing in literature, conversation, and cultural exploration. Originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, she enjoys sharing Canadian literature, history, traditions, and culture with students around the world.
She also creates seminars exploring cooking and baking traditions, using food as a way to connect language with cultural experiences. Her seminars combine English learning, storytelling, history, and interactive discussion, helping students discover new perspectives on familiar subjects.
Please note that opinions expressed by the tutor during the seminar are the tutor’s and do not necessarily reflect a general opinion by Cafetalk.
