Christmas Lights

2020-12-24

Hello everyone,

It's almost Christmas! Christmas is not the same this year. Due to the pandemic, we cannot celebrate Christmas the way we would in normal years. We are under a stay at home order so we can't go visit relatives, and we can't go to holiday parties or holiday concerts. We can't even go to Christmas services (at a church) if we wanted to.

Recently I noticed that there are more Christmas lights in my area than normal. People not only have Christmas trees in their homes that you can see through their windows, but they have strung Christmas lights on the trees, bushes and roofs of their houses. It is common to do this, but I think more houses are decorated than normal.

Why? I think because we can't celebrate the holidays with others, people are communicating with others by decorating their houses. Also, it has been such a difficult year, with so much death, illness and suffering, that people want to make something nice to look at and bring more Christmas cheer through lights and decorations.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Be safe and healthy.
