Lovely advertising about Italy

Vale

The spot of "Monte dei Paschi di Siena" bank of 2007 was directed by Giuseppe Tornatore - the one of the famous movie "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso". The background music is "Gli impermeabili" by Paolo Conte, one the best Italian songwriters.

I love to use it for my lessons to pre-intermediate students (A2 level), because it shows expecially artisans and "typical" Italian places: the coffee bar, the market, the countryside, a restoration workshop, a catwalk...

The scenes where filmed in: Catania (the fish market), Siena (Piazza del Campo), Florence (lookout from Piazzale Michelangelo), Milan (catwalk), Rome (Fontana di Trevi), and they show people making gesture with their hands (such Italian!) and in day-by-day activities.

It is really nice to work this advertising with the students because we can create different "paths" for the lesson: impressions about Italy, "made in Italy" jobs, gestures, the cities showed, Paolo Conte's music...

Enjoy!
