Talk About One of Your Favorite Lessons

주간 토픽: Talk about one of your popular lessons!

Of course it is a truism that different students have different needs. These needs will vary not only according to their learning goals, but also practical considerations.

I offer different lengths of lessons with different content in order to try and provide a type that will meet the learning goals of all student. So, if a person wants to pass a tricky exam,  get fluent in a very short time for work or simply has a lot of free time and wants to study a lot, I provide a long lesson which may well include analyzing a newspaper article or text.

At the other end of the spectrum,  there are students who do not have much free time and simply want to stay in touch with English.  They may just want to learn a few new words or ask a quick grammar question before they rush off to fetch their kids from kindergarten. There are also many parents who want their kids to have conversation practice they cannot get in school, but cannot afford to pay notoriously expensive conversation schools.

I created the 15 minute ‘Brush Up Your English,’ lesson for this second group. I especially wanted people on the go to have very short, cheap lessons they could enjoy as frequently or infrequently as they wish.  This lesson tends to be limited to two styles: either we talk freely using unstructured conversation or the students asks specific questions about grammar.  Every now and again a student needs to make a speech and wants their pronunciation checked.

However you choose to use this lesson, I hope it provides a much needed resource for people in these difficult times when pretty much everyone is stressed out and having to watch their income carefully.
