There is an abundance of Gods and their respective festivals in South Asia. One of the lesser-known festivals is Ganesh Chaturthi—a celebration marking the birth of Lord Ganesh. It is essentially the season opener for the Indian fall festivals, falling just after the birth of Krishna. What's so special about Ganesh is his peculiar anatomy, with the top half resembling an elephant.
Surprisingly, the idol has ample presence in pop culture. Most recently, in the Netflix show Sweet Tooth, its essence is aptly used around the theme of animal welfare.
Moreover, the popular PlayStation game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy involves finding the Tusk of Ganesh, a golden, bejeweled treasure in the shape of an elephant's tusk.
