HOW OFTEN SHOULD WE REVIEW

ANNY KA

Hello everyone!

Today, let's talk about review!

It is extremely important to review the knowledge that we have acquired.

The reason is the forgetting curve!

Above is a picture of a forgetting curve,
in case you haven't seen it before:

Day 0 is the day that you study something.

The red line is what happens if you don't review.

The green lines show how much you remember after 1 review, 2 reviews and 3 reviews.

Do we really need to review every day?

The answer is no.

We need to review regularly but definitely not every day.

In fact, we can space the reviews out more and more as we start to really know something well.

The exact timing of the reviews isn't very important.

Here are some ideas for review timetables:

- Study new things from Monday to Thursday and review everything on Friday. (This is useful if the new things are easy or quite short.)

- Study new things one day and then review them the next day. (This is useful if the new things are difficult or quite long.)

- Spend the first ten minutes doing review every time you study.

I really recommend doing more reviews!

I really recommend doing more reviews!
