Spring Cleaning

Sophie.

It is going into Spring here in Australia. The day's air is warming up already and it's starting to become t-shirt weather. Flowers have started to bloom and the bees are already busy in the garden. The days are becoming longer too.

Spring cleaning is the time to air out items around the house may have been stored for a while. It's more comfortable to complete big cleans around the house and then leave the windows and doors open so that anything cleaned can be dried. The sun is also out for longer and is stronger so you can put your pillows and blankets in the sun.

It's the perfect time to steam clean the carpets, wash all the curtains and clean windows. Maybe you also pack away your winter coats, jumpers and boots to make room for summer clothes and shoes.

Some people also like to think of it as a new time of the year for new energy. Maybe you start to have fresh flowers inside the home, move furniture around or declutter (getting rid of rubbish and unwanted items).

Here in Australia, we have daylight savings in some Australian states where we change our clocks (1 hour forward in summer and 1 hour backwards in winter). In winter there are 3 time zones across Australia but in summer, there are 5!

We will be changing our clocks in early October.
