Do you have a role model in life?

Weekly Topic: Do you have a role model in life?

ShellyAnn

Having a role model in life is something that can guide and inspire you through tough times, and I’m lucky enough to have a friend who fits that role perfectly. Even though we live far away from each other, our bond remains strong through the messages we send. My friend has always been someone I admire deeply, not just for their strength or success, but for their incredible kindness and generosity toward others.

What makes my friend stand out as a role model is their consistent effort to help people in need. Whether it’s lending a hand to someone going through a difficult period, volunteering at local charities, or simply offering support to those who feel lost or overwhelmed, my friend is always there. They have this unique ability to put others’ needs before their own, without ever expecting anything in return. How often do we truly prioritize others above ourselves? How many of us are willing to help without expecting anything back? It’s humbling to see how they approach life with such selflessness.

Even though we're miles apart, we still find ways to stay connected, sharing our thoughts, experiences, and offering each other advice. Our conversations through messages feel just as meaningful as in-person talks, and it’s amazing how we can keep that bond alive despite the distance. Isn't it incredible how technology allows us to stay connected across such vast spaces?

Through their actions and the way they communicate with me, my friend has taught me the importance of empathy, compassion, and community. They show me that making a difference doesn’t always have to involve grand gestures; even small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact on someone's life. How often do we overlook small opportunities to help others in our daily lives? Could one small act change someone’s entire day—or even their perspective on the world? This has inspired me to pay more attention to the needs of those around me and to be more willing to offer help when I can.

I’ve learned so much from my friend about what it means to be truly caring. They don’t just talk about helping others—they live it every day. Their actions remind me that there is always something we can do to make the world a better place, even in the smallest ways. So, what are we waiting for? Why not start today, and be the change you want to see? I feel incredibly fortunate to have them as a role model, and I hope to continue learning from their example for years to come.
