I'm back! .......Where have I been?

Hi everyone

I'm back! You are possibly thinking that I took a long holiday, enjoying myself. Sorry to disappoint you, it was nothing like that.

I injured myself badly. On 31 May during the night, I slipped on my bathroom tiled floor and fractured and dislocated my right foot so badly that I had to have emergency surgery that same day.

The next day they sent me home. It was so difficult just trying to get up the 3 steps to get into my front door.  

The next few months were very difficult.  Luckily I have become much more mobile and I am moving more easily. (I am even able to drive my manual car now.) The walking apparatus (frame) and moonboot have been essential in my recovery which has also included strenous physical therapy as directed by my physiotherapist. 

What do I remember  when I thinlk back to 2026.... I missed the whole winter season (I live in the southern hemisphere). I am seeing the surgeon on 1 September (unofficially "spring day" in our country) for the final visit. Hopefully all will be well after that. Also I would not have been able to cope with the basic things without the help and support of my family members at home.

My family jokes and says that if I go through the security check at the airport, the machines will beep like crazy because of all the metal in my foot!
