Penang street food

Nov 21, 2017

Penang is arguably most well known for its street food. So many people come here just for food! Locally known as "hawker food" , there are a huge variety from noodles to rice originated from different races that make up Penang's rich culture. I would like to introduce noodle dishes today.

From left top, beef noodle soup (a bit like pho from Vietnam), Fishball noodle soup, Wan Tan Mee (this one is dry, not in soup). Middle is probably one of the most famous food, Char Koay Teow (like Japanese yakisoba noodle but they use fat rice noodle instead). From left bottom, Penang Laksa (the soup is made from mackerel and has particular taste), Hokkien Mee or Prawn Mee, Loh Mee (I found a chicken feet in this thick gravy!)

But my most most favourite of all is Curry Mee!

Did this inspire you to come and visit Penang??
