今日の午後は、ペナンのユネスコ世界遺産に指定されているジョージータウンにあるリトル・インディア（インド人街）へ目的があって行ってきました。というのは、ある店で牛のおしっこが売られているという情報を手に入れたからです！！探しに行ってきました！
This afternoon, I had a mission in Little India in George Town, the UNESCO world heritage site in Penang. I heard that Cow's Urine was sold in a shop!! I had to go and find it!
そして見つけましたー！(右上）小さいボトルなのですが、本当に売ってました。価格は1.5リンギ（41.3円）英語をあまり話せない男の人をつかまえて何のために使われるのか聞きました。どうもお祈りのためらしく飲むものではないそう。牛はヒンドゥー教では神聖な動物とされています。なので、お清めのためなのかなと私は思いました。しかし、中にはどんな病気をも治せるということを信じて飲む人もやはりいるらしいです。
And I found it!! (right top) It is in a small bottle, and they are really selling it! The price was 1.5 Ringgit (41.3 yen). I grabbed a guy with little English and asked what this was for. He told me it was for praying, not for drinking. Cows are considered to be sacred in Hinduism, so I thought it might be for purification or purging. But I also heard that some people drink it as they believe it cures all diseases!
その他、こんな物見つけました。Other items I found today.
右上＝インド人のおばあさんがお祈りをささげるボルチコヴァによる壁画（こういう壁画があちこちにあります）
Right top = The Volchkova Indian Woman mural (There are many murals like this in town.)
左中＝リトル・インディアのサイン。ちょっとトロピカルな感じ。
Left middle = The sign for Little India. A bit tropical looking.
左下＝同じ店で見つけたトマトの石鹸？？ベジタリアンの人のためらしい。
Left bottom = Tomato soap found in the same shop. Apparently for vegitarian.
右中＝あちこちで売られているお祈りのための飾りの花。（本物もあるけれどこれは偽物）
Right middle = Fake flowers sold everywhere for prayer (real flowers are also sold)
右下＝ヒンドゥー教のお寺の飾り
Right bottom = Hindu temple decoration
リトル・インディアはなんて面白いところなんでしょう！
