Lesson Goal (50 minutes)
Students will:

-Practice reading aloud with confidence
-Learn key vocabulary and structure
-Connect pronunciation → comprehension
Warm-Up (5 min) – “Easy Entry.”
Goal: Activate English without stress
Pre-Reading (10 min) – “Unlock the Text”
Choose a short passage (5–8 lines max) from the study guide.
Step 1: Key Vocabulary
Write 5–7 words from the passage:
For each:
-Say it
-Students repeat
-Give simple definition + example
Example:
decode = “understand”
→ “I decode English”
Step 2: Prediction
I will ask:
“What is this text about?”
First Reading (10 min) – “Hear It First”
Step 1: Teacher Reads
I will read the passage slowly and clearly
Student:
Just listen
No reading yet
Step 2: Student Reading
The student reads the same passage
Focus:
-rhythm
-confidence, not perfection
Comprehension (10 min) – “Do They Get It?”
Keep questions very simple
Example Questions:
-“What is this about?”
-“Is it easy or difficult?”
-“What do we do first?”
Pronunciation + Chunking (10 min)
Now connect to your previous lesson.
Step 1: Break Sentences into Chunks
Example:
“We decode the meaning of a sentence.”
Break into:
We decode
the meaning
of a sentence
Students repeat chunk by chunk
Step 2: Stress Practice
Highlight key words:
decode the meaning
Students:
-repeat the same word stresses
Step 3: Problem Sounds
Pull from your passage:
If it includes:
-“r” → reading
-“th” → this, that
-“v” → very
Drill quickly
6. Speaking Practice (5 min) – “Use the Idea.”
Encourage full sentences
