Target User:
Advanced and adult students ( high school, university or business)
Lesson type:
Conversational, eg: eg: English exam, interview prep, reading or writing task, presentation, communication during meetings, etc
What do you need help with? What is your speech/essay about?
What is the theme in your written piece?
Intention:
A good way to meet and greet.
This lesson will help to set the tone for the relationship between student and tutor.
It will help establish the learning needs and focus of the student.
Useful to structure and customize future lessons based on the type of assistance required.
The tutor will be able to ascertain the student's age, language level, personality, interest level, and learn about what the student is currently involved in.
The student will learn about the tutor's teaching style, personality, etc
Methodologies:
To listen attentively to the student's needs.
Encourage deliberate and slow discussion.
Identify learning gaps and provide solutions/suggestions.
Applaud good aspects, offer praise and encouragement during feedback.
Suggest further practice after the lesson.
Give out homework and offer to review in the next lesson.
Incentivize students to book more lessons.
Materials:
Students can bring their material for which they may need help.
The tutor will share her screen.
