Description
What makes an interesting photograph?
This relaxed, one-to-one introduction to photography is for anyone who wants to become more intentional about the way they see and photograph the world.
Together, we’ll explore composition, light, colour, perspective and small visual details, using photographs as a starting point for conversation and simple creative exercises.
You can bring a few photographs you have taken yourself, whether they are recent, old, finished or simply images you happen to like. We’ll look at them together and talk about what catches your eye and why.
The aim isn't to take a “perfect” photograph or learn complicated technical rules. Instead, we'll start developing your ability to notice, make visual choices and understand what interests you personally.
No previous photography experience is required. A phone camera is absolutely welcome, so there’s no need to own a film or digital camera for this lesson.
Before the lesson
Please have 2–3 photographs you have taken yourself ready to show on camera. They don't need to be your best photographs - I'm interested in seeing what catches your eye.
If you don't have any photographs ready, that's completely fine. We can start with photographs and exercises during the lesson.
After the lesson
I'll give you a simple creative exercise to continue exploring photography between lessons.
