Description

What are you naturally drawn to as an artist?

This one-to-one session is for artists and photographers who want to better understand their creative interests and develop a more personal direction in their work.

We'll look at your own photographs or artworks alongside artists, photographers and other visual references that you are drawn to. Together we'll identify recurring subjects, moods, materials, colours, ideas or questions that could become the starting point for a personal project.

You don't need to arrive with a fully formed artistic identity or project. The session is about discovering connections and possibilities and giving yourself a clearer direction to explore.

Before the lesson

Please prepare:

  • 3–5 examples of your own work
  • 3–5 artists, photographers or images you are currently drawn to

They don't need to be related.

After the lesson

You'll receive a visual research exercise to help you continue exploring your direction.
