How to Get a Certified Translation for German-English in Japan

레슨 상세 내용

  1. Send me your real or sample document through Skype. Attach the files you need to get translated. Make sure that the photos show everything and that the pictures are of good quality. Specify what language you want them translated from and to, especially with bilingual certificates. Include if it is a standard (non-certified) or a certified translation. State by when you need the translation. Tip: Ask the authority you need the translation for if a certified translation is required or if an uncertified one will do (it’s more inexpensive).
  2. I/the translator will send you a timeline and give you an offer of how much it costs. The price will always take the following into consideration: Flawless translation, proofreading, certification if applicable, postage, 8% tax if you are based in Japan too, express charge if applicable. At this point I will need your address (where I will send the certified German/English or English/German translation to plus you will need to send me the originals if it is a certified translation (factoring in time is recommended). With my certification I put my name stamp on a document and say that my translation is complete and correct and I say what kind of document the translation is based on (copy, original, photo etc.)
  3. You will get your translation by mail including an invoice. At this point you will need to pay, usually by wire transfer. Other payment methods may be discussed. This doesn’t go for bigger translation jobs. More info upon request.
  4. Apostille: Please not that a state-certified translator cannot issue an apostille, but can translate one.
  5. I always recommend to check with the German embassy if it is a translation connected to Germany. You can verifiy if the translator is known there and what documents really are needed, so that you can avoid overpaying.
