This lesson is designed to familiarize students with words they not have seen before. By matching a vocabulary word with its correct definition, students will have both written and visual cues to thoroughly understand the meaning of vocabulary words.
Concepts taught: understanding words, vocabulary, definitions, visualizing and teamwork.

- A set of vocabulary word cards (flashcards)
- vocabulary matching worksheet

Level 1
Students will receive support when reading the word or definitions on the card
Level 2
The students will be able to follow a given instruction when reading or writing
Level 3
Once all pictures are matched up, the student(s) will be allowed to brainstorm the pictures that could represent each word.
