Business English: Meetings & Small Talk (25 min)

A fast-paced intermediate (B1–B2) lesson teaching learners to navigate real workplace conversations — opening with small talk, using key meeting phrases (opening, agreeing, disagreeing, interrupting, closing), and practicing through a short dialogue and role-play. Ends with a quick reflection on phrases used.

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

  1. Open a business conversation with brief small talk
  2. Use key phrases to open, contribute to, and close a meeting
  3. Politely agree, disagree, and interrupt in a business conversation
  4. Practice these skills in a short role-play
