An introduction to DNA and how our cells control it

Description

Each one of our cells has the same DNA, the biological information given to us by our parents, but our cells do many different things. From brain cells which send messages in our brain, to heart cells which beat to pump blood around our body.

In this lesson, I will introduce the topic of Epigenetics. A way for a cell to decide what job it will do in the body. This is important when we develop from egg and sperm to fetus and also means we can respond to changes in our lifestyle. Find out what switches we have on our DNA and the latest scientific findings that influence medicine!

Please let me know your current knowledge of Biology so I can make the lesson suitable for you. Any level of knowledge is accepted! Suitable for high school students.
