Topic: Writing emails
Aims: To be able to write a formal and semi-formal email at the end of the lesson.
Level: Intermediate and above
The main focus will be on writing semi-formal and formal emails, and the student's homework at the end of the lesson will be to send two emails, the first to a tourist information centre of his or her choice and the second to an American supplier.
Procedure
With the help of Skype Chatroom, I will send you samples of formal and semi-formal emails. We will read them together and we will study their structures and the language used. I will review some rules for writing an email and we will discuss what to consider when writing. At the end of the lesson, you will be asked to write 2 emails. You can send me the emails through Skype or through email, of course. I will correct them for you even after the lesson is over and will send you feedback on what to change and what to maintain.
