Let's participate together in the Cafetalk Spring Book Club campaign. Roald Dahl is a famous author of such children's books as "Matilda," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "James and the Giant Peach," and "Fantastic Mr. Fox." "The Witches" is a dark fantasy novel about a young boy and his grandmother's battle against a society of evil witches. Although the book was written for children, it's pretty scary in some places!
The book (available on Amazon.com and other online stores) uses language that is usually easy to understand but will also offer some readers a chance to learn new vocabulary and idioms. The length is 224 pages. We can begin reading together, or we can discuss the book after you've begun or finished the reading.
