Target Audience: Intermediate and Advanced English speakers who want to refine their English language skills in the workplace.
Warm-up: Students will be presented with a list of various words. The challenge is to first read and pronounce the word correctly, and then to determine whether they believe this phrase is appropriate for a work environment. I will first say the word or phrase and have the student repeat the word or phrase after me. And then I will ask the student if it is ok to use this word or phrase at work, or not.
Importance of Politeness at work: Discuss how the uses of polite words and phrases are highly important in the workplace, but are not so important in informal situations.
Corporate vocabulary: Introduction of common corporate vocabulary. Students will learn meaning, form and pronunciation of each new piece of vocabulary. Imagery will be used to aide explanation of meaning.
