1. Spain and Latin American countries

People usually have two surnames.

One surname comes from the father, and the other from the mother.
2. Iceland
-
Last names are often based on the father’s first name plus -son or -dóttir.

Example: if the father is Jon, the child might be Jonsson (son of Jon) or Jonsdóttir (daughter of Jon).
3. China
-
The family name comes first, followed by the given name.
-
Example order: family name + personal name.
4. Some African cultures

Names may describe circumstances of birth, such as the day of the week a baby was born.
