Introduction

Welcome to our Phonics Class for Kids! This class is specially designed to help young learners develop strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and pronunciation through engaging phonics instruction.

In this class, we focus on teaching children the relationship between sounds and letters, enabling them to decode and read words accurately. Through a systematic approach, we introduce phonetic concepts, letter-sound correspondences, and blending techniques to help children develop their phonemic awareness and phonics skills.

 
Expectations

  • Learn letter names and sounds: We introduce each letter of the alphabet, teaching children the corresponding sounds and helping them recognize and differentiate between letters.
  • Master phonetic patterns: We explore common phonetic patterns, such as digraphs, blends, long and short vowels, and diphthongs, through engaging activities and practice exercises.
  • Develop reading skills: Children will learn to apply their phonics knowledge to decode and read words, sentences, and simple texts. We emphasize reading fluency, accuracy, and comprehension.
  • Enhance spelling and writing skills: We guide children in applying phonics principles to spell words correctly and develop their writing skills. They will learn to sound out words and use phonics rules to spell unfamiliar or irregular words.
  • Improve pronunciation: We help children improve their pronunciation and oral communication skills by focusing on correct phonetic sounds and word stress patterns.

Cancellation of pack lessons

• 'Unstarted' lesson packs(1) can be cancelled any time. Used Points will be completely refunded. If a 'started' lesson pack(2) is cancelled, you will be refunded 50% of the price of the remaining lessons provided that the lessons are unrequested, unconfirmed or not within 24 hours of their scheduled start times.
(1) A lesson pack for which none of the requests have been confirmed by the tutor.
(2) A lesson pack with at least one confirmed request. (By confirming the date and time for the first lesson in the pack the tutor confirms the pack as a whole and coupons are automatically issued)

Cancelling individual requests in a pack

• If you wish to cancel a single lesson that belongs to a pack but not the whole pack, you can do so via the request page. In this case, the coupon used to book the lesson will either be refunded or collected, based on the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy. Please note that any 50% partial refunds in the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy do not apply to lesson packs and the tutor may choose to either refund or collect the coupon in those cases.
