Our introductions went well... now we can talk about the topics that interest us!

Welcome back!
For our first lesson after the introductions, we will focus on a topic that interests us both. This will have been arranged at the end of the trial.
You are practicing your spoken English so I want you to talk as much as possible. Of course, it's important to listen so I won't be completely silent! However I want to listen to you so that I can develop ways to help you improve.
The framework for my lessons is informal and flexible. That means we will communicate in the way that best suits us. Perhaps we are structured and begin each lesson with a short conversation about the last few days, what we have been doing, how the weather is, how we are feeling. Then we can move onto a discussion of a subject that interests us both.
Or we can be more spontaneous, more free flowing, and allow the conversation to take us where it will. You can recite a poem that you love and we can discuss that. Tell me about the artists you love, why they appeal to you. Talk about the walk you took yesterday in the rain, how everything looked so fresh when the sun came out. Describe the dinner you cooked, how the colours of the vegetables were so vivid, the exotic smell of the spices.
English is a beautiful language, let's enjoy it together!
