Enhance Language Proficiency and Communication Abilities

Course Objectives:
Ø The course is designed both for students studying general English and for those studying English with a view toward more academic work. Students’ both language skills and critical thinking skills will also be strategically developed in this course. The course places emphasis on helping students advance their reading comprehension skills and communicate with confidence in English.
Ø The focus on essential critical thinking skills in this course encourages students’ independent thinking and learning. These critical thinking skills include analyzing, synthesizing, making inferences, understanding organization, comparing and contrasting, understanding point of view and drawing conclusions. Students taking this course should be aware that they are required to actively participate in classroom discussions and in-class quizzes.
