Lesson Pack Details

This is a 10-lesson pack. You will be issued 9 “coupons” when the first request is confirmed. You will be able to use these coupons for subsequent requests in the pack. Please note that all requests related to this pack must be taken within 70 days of the first lesson date.

Lessons should generally be booked chronologically, meaning that the second lesson should be booked after the first, and so on.

READ
Goal: Understand the story
Once I have confirmed your lesson request, I will send you a short story which you can read prior to class. But, don't worry. In case you couldn't get the time to read the story before comming to class, I will give you a few minutes to read it in class. At this stage, you are not required to read the story aloud.

ASSESS
Goal: Proof of understanding
Because I can't read minds, I will have to ask you a few questions related to the story as to make sure that you understand the story. But, don't worry. I won't make it look like an interrogation. We'll go through the assessment in a fun way. Yay. And, if there are parts that you failed to grasp, here's the time to talk about it.

TELL
Goal: Demonstration of understanding
This will be your chance to tell me, in your own words, about the story. But, don't worry. You won't have to memorize the story. As long as you are not reading word by word, you may tell me the story while viewing the text.

EXERCISE
Goal: Improvement of understanding
At the end of class, I will give you homework for you to submit until our next class. But, don't worry. If you happened to be super busy during the week and thus couldn't complete your homework, you will still be welcomed in the next class.

So, that's my self-invented RATE Method. The last thing you don't need to worry about is the story's level of difficulty. I have a pile of stories varying in all level of English. Neither will I make you bored, nor will I cause you a headache.

Cancellation of pack lessons

• 'Unstarted' lesson packs⁽¹⁾ can be cancelled any time. Used Points will be completely refunded. If a 'started' lesson pack⁽²⁾ is cancelled, you will be refunded 50% of the price of the remaining lessons provided that the lessons are unrequested, unconfirmed or not within 24 hours of their scheduled start times.

(1) A lesson pack for which none of the requests have been confirmed by the tutor.
(2) A lesson pack with at least one confirmed request. (By confirming the date and time for the first lesson in the pack the tutor confirms the pack as a whole and coupons are automatically issued)

Cancelling individual requests in a pack

• If you wish to cancel a single lesson that belongs to a pack but not the whole pack, you can do so via the request page. In this case, the coupon used to book the lesson will either be refunded or collected, based on the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy. Please note that any 50% partial refunds in the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy do not apply to lesson packs and the tutor may choose to either refund or collect the coupon in those cases.
