Level: Adapted to the student's current English ability
Lesson Outline:
1. Welcome & Introduction — 5 minutes
- Brief introduction between teacher and student
- Discuss the student's background, interests, and reasons for learning English
- Establish a comfortable and relaxed learning environment
2. Getting to Know Your English — 10 minutes
- Casual conversation to assess speaking and listening ability
- Simple questions and discussion based on the student's interests
- Identify areas of confidence and areas that may need improvement
3. Main Lesson Activity — 20 minutes
- Interactive English activity based on the student's level and goals
- Focus may include conversation, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, or practical English
- Activities are adapted to make the lesson relevant and engaging for the individual student
4. Conversation & Practice — 10 minutes
- Apply what was covered through guided conversation or a practical situation
- Encourage the student to use new vocabulary and expressions independently
- Provide corrections and helpful feedback where appropriate
5. Review & Next Steps — 5 minutes
- Review what was covered during the lesson
- Discuss the student's strengths and areas for development
- Recommend potential areas of focus for future lessons
What students can expect
The introductory lesson is designed to be relaxed, interactive, and personalized. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all lesson, the session gives the teacher an opportunity to understand the student's current English level, interests, and goals and use that information to shape future lessons.
